Silver fillings banned

Silver (Mercury) fillings have been banned in the UK for pregnant women and children.  In time there will be a total ban.  This is good news for dental care as white fillings are so much better. For a start they look better!  They also bond to the tooth so can seal the tooth against further decay and can be used to strengthen the teeth.  From my point of view they make me feel that I am truly restoring the teeth rather than just patching them up.  They can also be used to build up worn teeth, repair chipped teeth and have many other uses.  They are also incredibly strong so rarely break.  There is a downside, though; they have to be carried out really well to ensure that they bond properly and last for many years.
